Maya Horgan Famodu is an ecosystem architect, driving growth and development in Sub-Saharan based startup ecosystems.
She is Founder of Ingressive, an investment group that backs top African tech and leads corporates and venture capitalists to do business and successfully navigate West Africa (“Tour of Tech”).
She has curated market access for leaders from 500 Startups, Y Combinator, New Relic, USAID, GitHub, Intuit, Glickman Trust, Techstars and more to Nigeria to meet local tech ecosystem, then invest in deals. Their last event convened over 500 top tech founders and global investors, many of whom went on to invest in or officially advise companies they met that week in Lagos. She has been featured in Financial Times, CNBC Africa, BusinessDay, Inc, Huffington Post, Bella Naija, ThisDay, The Guardian, and many others.
Maya attended Pomona College after completing the Cornell University Prelaw Program, and worked within the banking sector of JPMorgan Chase. Before starting Ingressive, Maya conducted extensive emerging market economic research in Southern Africa and LatAm, taking students with her to explore keys to sustainable economic development. She also worked in private equity research, consulting with businesses looking to enter the West African market.
